How to create and edit your rules?
Updated yesterday

The drafting and provision of rules are mandatory, especially if you are offering rewards and have specific game conditions. Even for a game without a reward, it is recommended to create rules to prevent any complaints. To help you draft your rules, here are the 7 steps to follow.

To integrate rules into your competition, you have several options:

  • Generate your rules

  • Host your rules

  • Add a link to your rules

  • Lodge your rules with a partner bailiff

Generate your rules

Our platform provides a generic set of rules compliant with French legislation. You will need to adapt it to the specifics of your competition. To access the rule editor, follow these steps:

1. In the Back Office of your competition, click on the "+" and select the rule module.

2. Fill in the fields of the form and click "Validate" to access the editor.

3. Modify the text directly in the editor and validate.

✍️ Note: Before leaving the editor, save a copy of the rules in a text file on your computer. If you come back later to make changes, the editor will be reset.

Once generated, your rules will be accessible in the footer menu of your campaign (as a link to the hosted document) or in the hamburger menu (mobile version).

Host your rules

If you have already drafted your rules and want to upload them to Socialshaker in PDF format, follow these steps:

Go to the "Host my rules" tab.

In the designated field, click "Browse."

Locate your rules on your computer and upload them.

Click "Validate" to save the upload.

Add a link to your rules

If you have already drafted your rules, you can import them directly by providing the URL of the document. Here are the steps:

  1. Create and host your PDF document.

  2. Insert the URL into the designated field.

Once imported, your rules will be accessible in the footer menu of your campaign (as a link to the hosted document) or in the hamburger menu (mobile version).

Insert your rules into a pop-in

If you do not wish to upload a PDF or use the editor, you can copy and paste your text directly into the "Rules" block available under "Home" > "Menu."

Once saved, it will appear in a pop-in directly in the game when you click "Rules" in the footer of the game or from the hamburger menu on mobile.

Lodge your rules with a partner bailiff

For added security, Socialshaker allows you to lodge your rules automatically with a partner bailiff for €99 (excl. VAT), with lodging within 48 business hours. After validating your document in the rules module, you can make the payment by credit card. You will receive a confirmation email when the lodging is complete.

Edit existing rules

To modify already generated rules, go back to the "Rules" module and click on "Generate my rules." Fill in the fields and click "Validate." You will then have access to the editor again. Please note that you will need to reconfigure all your changes as the editor will be reset. Make sure you have a copy of your rules for any future modifications, then validate.
