Form mechanics

Description

The ‘Form’ type mechanisms available to you all have one thing in common: they allow you to collect data on your audience, whether in the context of a marketing game campaign or to allow your customers to contact you as part of a sales exchange or a question to your after-sales service. Every marketing campaign created with Socialshaker includes a form in its course, so it's an essential mechanism in the success of your objectives.

⚠️ Important: if a participant fills in the same form several times, only the data collected during the 1st registration will be kept.

What are the differences between the Form, Newsletter and Contact Form mechanisms?

  • The Form mechanic is recommended if you want to create a simple form with a thank-you page.

  • The Newsletter mechanic is recommended if you want to enable your audience to subscribe to your newsletter - a thank you page is also available.

  • The Contact Form mechanism is recommended if you want to respond to after-sales service issues, sales contact requests or collect customer feedback by deploying a contact form on your Facebook page, on a dedicated mini-site or directly on your website. The advantage of this mechanism is that it allows you to receive your customers' requests/registrations in real time, so you can keep track of the various requests made by a single customer.

What data is collected on a form?

All form mechanics have the same fields, which will be displayed in theexport of your participants. Here is the full list:

  • Facebook and Google connectors - to enable your participants to identify themselves more quickly, which will encourage registration. You can also force participants to use them using the dedicated option.

  • Last name

  • First name

  • Email - only this field is compulsory on your form, unless you have activated the Unlocker Code.

  • Address

  • Postcode (Zip code)

  • Town

  • Country

  • State

  • Telephone

  • Date of birth

  • Title

  • Acceptance of conditions - this field corresponds to the rules for your campaign.

  • Acceptance of privacy policy

  • Newsletter / Partner newsletter - essential if your aim is to recruit opt-ins. Please note that these fields cannot be made mandatory.

  • Customised fields - there are 3 of these, allowing you to request additional information according to your needs.

How do I export the data from my form?

You'll find the information collected via the form in the participants‘ export and the winners’ export. Each field added will create a new corresponding column in the export. The Form and Contact Form mechanics also offer the option of downloading the export of subscribers (newsletter or not) from the ‘Mechanics’ section, whereas the Newsletter mechanics offer the option of downloading the export of newsletter subscribers only.

Can I customise my form page?

Of course, and it's even recommended! You can import Mobile and Desktop background images, modify the text displayed, customise the validation button, integrate the RGPD mentions, activate the Code Unlocker which will allow access to your game only to participants with a unique code defined in advance, or decide to deactivate the reCaptcha.

Can I move my form page elsewhere in my campaign?

No, you can't move it. However, you can add an additional form page by clicking on ‘Post Form ’ in the advanced options of your campaign:

Is it possible to run a game campaign without a form?

Yes, you can, as long as you activate the ‘Anonymous authentication’ option, which allows you to remove the form page from your campaign. This can be done for a particular campaign only, or for all the campaigns in your account. You will find the pricing information in this article.
