Set up a Pronostics game mechanic
Updated over a month ago

Description

Invite your community to make predictions on the world's most famous competitions. Players earn points for correct predictions and are listed in a table available directly in the game. Discover the demo mini-site.

1. Creating the campaign

Once you have logged on to the platform, you will find the history of all your campaigns with their status (‘Online’, ‘Offline’). To launch a new campaign, click on the ‘Create a campaign’ tab. Choose the type of mechanism you want to set up, in this case a Forecast.

2. Choose a template

Before accessing the configuration of your campaign, you need to choose a template (default, colours, themes). You will be able to change the template later if you wish. Please note: if you change the template during the configuration phase, your settings will be deleted and all the default settings will be restored.

3. Settings stage

You enter the game settings directly in the ‘Settings’ section.

  • We provide PSD templates to help you create the visuals for your game. Cotations’ and “Zonings” represent the text elements and buttons generated on the game interface.

  • The breadcrumb trail represents the different stages of the game, broken down into different tabs that you can customise.

  • To add extra stages to the game, click on the ‘+’ to the right of the breadcrumb trail. You can then activate the Softgate, Post Form, set your payment parameters, etc.

The settings in the first ‘Settings’ stage of your campaign concern the structural elements that are not visible to players, but which are fundamental to the smooth running of your game. You can make the following settings (some settings are not available with all subscriptions, see our pricing page):

  • Colour and background image of the campaign (this visual is used on all the pages of the game, in the background). We recommend 1920x1080px. More details in our Design Kit.

  • Name and description of your campaign (for you)

  • The subscription linked to the campaign

  • The page linked to the subscription (fill in the page linked to the subscription first in the ‘my subscriptions’ section of your personal space).

  • Any members authorized to set up the campaign with you (Team module)

  • Campaign time zone

  • Google Analytics ID (if you want to link the campaign to your analytics tool to track a certain number of game-related metrics)

  • Tracking (if you want to link the campaign to your ads analytics tool, to track ads-related data)

  • Geo-blocking (if you want your campaign to be accessible only in the country or countries of your choice)

  • Campaign period (start and end dates)

  • Languages (activate the language(s) of your choice. If several languages are activated, the settings will have to be made for each language at each stage).

  • Sponsorship (activate sponsorship if you want your campaign to go viral).

Don't forget to confirm at the end of the step, so that you can access the settings for the following steps.

4. Home screen

Once you have validated the ‘Configuration’ stage, you can set up all the other stages in the desired order or by following the order in which the game is displayed. The settings for each basic stage work on the same principle.

  • Customise text, images, colours and the size of text elements and buttons.

  • Preview the rendering from each stage of the game

✍️ Please note: Make sure you validate your changes to ensure they are taken into account when you preview.

5. The Concept stage

To get the game up and running, you need to set 2 important parameters in the ‘Concept’ section:

  • The ‘Matches’ tab: set the parameters for all the matches (date/time), enter the scores of the matches once they have finished, etc.

  • The ‘General settings’ tab: define the type of prediction you will offer players and the points awarded according to your choice.

How points are calculated: You define the points to be awarded according to the winning configuration (exact score or winner), then you enter the exact final score of the match when you know it, in the ‘Matches’ section. The players' scores are then calculated automatically (based on their predictions in the game) and entered in the final score table at the end of the game.

The other actions possible in the ‘Concept’ section are :

  • Appearance tabs: set the visual rendering of the match list and the specific prediction page.

  • Prizes drawing: draw lots (regardless of score)

  • Participant list: export player scores

  • Shares (render sharing texts and images)

  • Limits (if you wish, set a limit per player, per campaign, per IP, etc.)

5.1 Matches management

  • Create, modify and delete matches

  • Set up matches (dates and times, images for each team, team names)

  • Stop predictions whenever you want before the start of the match (if they are not stopped manually, they are stopped automatically when the match start date and time expire).

  • Enter the match scores at the end of each match so that the players' scores are calculated automatically. Please note: you can only enter the final score of a match once. Once validated, this score cannot be modified, as it automatically calculates the players' scores. This calculation is irreversible.

5.2 Points management (General settings)

For the type of predictions (animation) in your game, you can choose between two scenarios:

  • Exact match score : A player wins the points for the ‘number of points per accurate prediction’ section if, and only if, his prediction is perfectly accurate. If the prediction is not accurate but the player has at least found the winner, he/she wins the points for the ‘number of points per prediction of the winner’ section. If the prediction is not accurate and the player has even picked the wrong winner, the player gets no points.

  • Match winner : The player wins the points for the ‘number of points per correct prediction’ section if, and only if, his prediction is perfectly correct, i.e. if he has found the winner of the match. If his prediction is not accurate and he has picked the wrong winner, he gets no points. In this case, the ‘Number of points per winner's prediction’ section is not applied.

6. Publication

Once your campaign has been fully configured, you can put it online. To activate the campaign, click on ‘Activate’ at the slider (this button is a way of making your campaign inaccessible at any time by unchecking the box whenever you want). However, this does not immediately make it visible to Internet users. To make it visible, you will need to communicate the url of the game, and/or install the Facebook tab for the game on your page.

Depending on the subscription you have, you have different options for broadcasting the game. Here are the 3 options:

  • Integrate the game into your website using the Iframe tag provided, an example here.
