Why doesn't my share image appear on Facebook?
Updated over 2 months ago

Introduction

If you want to promote your game on Facebook, we recommend sharing the url of the redirect link to your game microsite, as this will allow your Mobile users to access it (the game tab is inaccessible on Mobile).

You'll find this link in the "Publication ’ section of your campaign:

How do you create the metadata for your campaign?

The metadata is all the information that you're going to share via the redirect url and which should encourage visitors to sign up. This includes the title of the share, the description of the share and the share image (also known as the ‘banicon’).

You can create this metadata using the "Sharesmodule available in most Socialshaker mechanisms.

What should you do if you don't have a share image in your Facebook post, or if old information is displayed?

Social networks use a ‘cache’ system that stores the latest information relating to a URL link so that it can be displayed more quickly the next time it is shared. In some cases, this prevents new, updated information from being displayed.

To remedy this problem, you need to use a sharing debugging tool that will update the latest metadata for your link.

  • Enter your socialshaker link and click on ‘Debug’.

  • Check that your image appears in the ‘Link preview’ section.

  • If not, click on ‘Re-collect’.

💡 Tip: if you get an error message with the shakr.cc link, try again using the canonical URL, available on the same page.
