Updated today

Description

Launch a competition in the form of a Simon mechanic. Participants have to reproduce the soundtrack identically by tapping the associated keys within the allotted time. Participants are then rewarded in a draw to select the winners.

Settings

To find out more about the very first steps in creating a campaign, we recommend that you start with the following article: General guide to a marketing campaign.

The Simon is made up of the following sections

  • Configuration: to determine the general parameters of your campaign.

  • Home page: to import the legal documentation for your game (rules, privacy policy, etc.) and set the parameters for the home page.

  • Form: to choose the fields for your form and set its design parameters.

  • Mechanics: to define the parameters of the game and its design. This article will focus on this section in particular.

  • Installation: to activate and distribute your campaign to your audience.

To see the different options available for each section, we recommend that you read the articles associated with them.

Creating a Simon design

Before getting started, we recommend that you read this article, which explains the basics of creating graphics on Socialshaker: Creating the graphics for your campaign. As with all the other mechanics, you can choose between using the templates provided or importing your own template.

If you choose the latter option, you will need to create the following elements for this mechanic:

  • Campaign background (1920x1080px recommended).

  • Desktop home page background (810x700px recommended) and Mobile home page background (480×710px recommended).

  • Desktop (810x700px recommended) and Mobile (480×710px recommended) form page background.

  • Game page background (810x700px recommended) - no Mobile image for this background, it will be resized automatically.

  • Illustration images: (500x500px)

  • Image for sharing on social networks (1200x630px recommended).

Note that you can use the campaign background as the default background for all pages on Mobile by ticking the appropriate box :

Setting up a Simon (‘Concept’ section)

Introduction theme

In this section, you can customise the introduction page, which explains the rules of the game. This module lets you import game backgrounds and customise the rendering of your texts and buttons.

How do I import my backgrounds?

The game background is imported in the ‘Page design’ section. Only the Desktop background can be uploaded, and it will be resized to display on Mobile as well. If you wish, you can force the display of your campaign background for the Mobile version - this operation is carried out in the "Configuration ’ section of your campaign.

Game theme

In this section, you can customise the visual rendering of the Simon. Use our PSD template to help you create the graphics. Here you can also choose the default music to be played.

Result theme

Customise the rendering of the board, invite participants to play again and add a custom button.

A draw is used to determine the winners of your game campaign. To find out how to draw lots for an Open Quiz and what criteria are taken into account, we recommend that you read this article: Drawing lots

Export the list of participants

You can export 2 types of file containing participation data:

  • Participants export: includes the data of all the participants in your campaign. To find out more, we recommend you read this article: Exporting data.

  • Winners export: includes contact details for the participant, the date and time they won the prize, and the corresponding prize won. This list can be found in the ‘Mechanics’ > ‘Prize draw’ > ‘Winners export’ section.
