Set up a Sweepstakes mechanism
Updated over 2 months ago

Description

Create a simple mechanism where the participant fills in an entry form to be entered in a prize draw. It's quick and easy to set up, and will help you generate new leads. Test this mechanism.

Configuration stages

To find out more about the very first steps in creating a campaign, we recommend that you start with the following article: General guide to a marketing campaign. The Sweepstakes consists of the following sections:

  • Configuration: to determine the general parameters of the contact form.

  • Form: to choose the fields for your form and set its design parameters.

  • Mechanics: to enter the recipient's email address.

  • Installation: to activate and distribute your campaign to your audience.

To see the different options available for each section, we recommend that you read the related articles.

Sweepstakes design

Before getting started, we recommend that you read this article, which explains the basics of creating graphics on Socialshaker: Creating the graphics for your campaign.

As with all the other mechanics, you can choose between using the templates provided or importing your own template. If you choose the latter option, you will need to create the following elements for this mechanic:

  • Campaign background (1920x1080px recommended).

  • Desktop home page background (810x700px recommended) and Mobile home page background (480×710px recommended).

  • Desktop (810x700px recommended) and Mobile (480×710px recommended) form page background.

  • Share image (1200x630px recommended)

Note that you can use the campaign background as the default background for all pages on Mobile by ticking the appropriate box :

Random drawing

The prize draw is used to determine the winners of your game campaign. To find out how to draw lots for a Sweepstakes and what criteria are taken into account, we recommend that you read this article: Drawing lots

Shares

To find out how to organise the sharing of a Sweepstakes on social networks, we recommend that you read this article: Sharing your campaign on social networks.

Limits

By default, each participant can play as much as they like on the campaign. To set up game limits, click on "Limit type ’ and choose one of the following options:

  • limit per day

  • limit by campaign

  • limit by IP

You must then enter a number corresponding to the desired limit - don't forget to change it in the text that will be displayed to the participant if they reach this limit.

You can also limit the maximum number of participants in a Sweepstakes campaign. Set this number in the "Limit on total entries ’ field - you can also change the text that will be displayed to all participants who try to play after this limit has been reached.

✍️ Note: the text page displayed when a limit is reached will use the colour codes of your Menu (defined background colour + white text).

Thank you’ section

You can customise the thank you page, and offer a redirection button to participants. This allows you to offer your audience downloadable content, such as a guide, catalogue or live white paper.

Exports

You can export 2 types of file containing participation data:

  • Participant export: includes the data of all the participants in your campaign. To find out more, we recommend you read this article.

  • Winners export: includes information about the participant, the date and time they won the prize, and the corresponding prize won. This list can be found in the ‘Mechanics’ > ‘Prize draw’ > ‘Winner export’ section.

Q&A

How can I modify my campaign once it has been activated?

You can, of course, modify your campaign at any time - simply make the changes you want and confirm them using the ‘Confirm’ button at the bottom of the page.

What's the difference between Sweepstakes, Forms and Contact Forms?

The Sweepstakes is the only one of these 3 mechanisms that allows a draw to be made from among all the participants. The Form allows you to set up a thank you page. The purpose of the Contact Form is to gather information and questions from your audience.
